Index to the Australian and New Zealand Bookplate Collection at the Flinders University

The Artist Index

The Artist Index is an alphabetical listing of bookplate artists and their works held in the Library. The index contains a description for all individual bookplates which takes the following format:

Name of Artist Name of owner Number Inscription on the bookplate; date; medium used; signed on the image or signed on the plate; brief description of the bookplate including the colours used *.

The Owner Index

The Owner Index provides a second method of entry to the collection. Containing the same information as the Artist index, it is arranged alphabetically according to the names on the bookplate.

Name of owner Name of Artist Number Inscription on the bookplate; date; medium used; signed on the image or signed on the plate; brief description of the bookplate including the colours used*.

*Signed on the image, indicates that the bookplate has been signed by the artist after printing. Signed on the plate, indicates that the artist has incorporated his/her signature or initials into the design of the plate.
