The purpose of the ACP Journal Club is to select published articles according to explicit criteria and that discuss important advances in the treatment, diagnosis, cause, prevention, prognosisor economics of medical disorders. Clinical experts then summarise the articles, and comment on methodology, preceding research and recommendations for clinical practice in 'value-added' abstracts.

Recognised as Australia’s National Geoscience, Minerals and Petroleum Reference Database, AESIS was developed by the Australian Mineral Foundation (AMF) in cooperation with Geoscience Australia (formerly Bureau of Mineral Resources, Geology and Geophysics (BMR) and later Australian Geological Survey Organisation (AGSO)), CSIRO, State Departments of Mines and Geological Surveys, the National Library of Australia, the Australian Geoscience Information Association, and many companies. AESIS was coordinated by the Australian Mineral Foundation until the AMF closed at the end of 2001.
At that time, AESIS was the world's largest reference database covering both published and unpublished Australian geoscience, minerals and petroleum literature.

The Australian Nuclear Science & Technology Information (ANSTI) database, compiled by the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO), contains bibliographical references to the Australian scientific and technical literature covering the broad spectrum of nuclear science research and development, with special emphasis on its peaceful applications. ANSTI is a subset of the INIS Database, produced by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Source documents include all relevant published and unpublished (technical and scientific reports, conference proceedings, theses, and so on) authored by Australians or published in Australia. Source materials include Australian and some international journal articles, research and development reports, conference papers, books, patents, theses, laws, regulations and standards.
Subject coverage: Scientific and technical information related to the peaceful uses of nuclear science and technology as well as the economic and environmental aspects of non-nuclear energy.

Overwhelmingly cited by a majority of aquatic science librarians as their primary database, the ASFA series is the premier reference in the field of aquatic resources. Input to ASFA is provided by a growing international network of information centers monitoring over 5,000 serial publications, books, reports, conference proceedings, translations and limited distribution literature. ASFA is a component of the Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries Information System (ASFIS), formed by four United Nations agency sponsors of ASFA and two international partners.

The Chronology of Australian Historic & Current Events database (AUSCHRON), produced by John Adams, MA, DipEd, is an information database which provides a listing of significant events in Australian history with emphasis on current happenings, covering all topics from politics and law to the arts and sport. Each entry provides citations to key sources and background notes on the event. Source documents for current events are the main daily state and territory papers, chiefly 'The Age' and 'The Australian', and national news journals, reports and other publications where relevant. For historical events, source documents include contemporary records such as explorers' journals and newspapers, together with secondary sources such as books and journal articles.
Subject coverage includes Australian historical events in all subject areas with particular reference to significant happenings from 1993 to 1995.
