  • Australian Association of the Deaf
    "The Australian Association of the Deaf Inc. is the national peak organisation for Deaf people in Australia. It represents the views of Deaf people who use Auslan (Australian Sign Language)." Information on the Association, its advocacy program, and selected publications available.
  • Australian Communication Exchange
    "Australian Communication Exchange (ACE) is a not-for-profit, Australian organisation dedicated to empowering those who are Deaf or have a hearing, speech or communication impairment to obtain access to the telephone and other telecommunication networks." Factsheets are available on the services they offer, as well as an online newsletter and their research publications. Their Australian Deafness Directory is also extremely useful.
  • Better Hearing Australia
    "Better Hearing Australia is a non-profit, self-help organisation controlled by its members and provides an Australia-wide community support service of rehabilitation and help for Australia's hearing impaired." Provides courses and information on managing a hearing loss.
  • Deaf Sports Australia
    Information on various deaf sporting associations, the Deaflympic Games, Australian Deaf Games, plus deaf sporting heroes and a calendar of events.
  • Deafness Forum of Australia
    "Deafness Forum is the peak body for deafness in Australia, and seeks solutions and advocates on issues for all Australians who are deaf, have a hearing impairment, or a chronic disorder of the ear." Information leaflets are available, as well as their policy position papers and information about the organisation.
  • The Cora Barclay Centre for the Deaf and Hearing Impaired
    This SA organisation provides intensive early intervention programs, specialist services and family support programs. Their website provides information on their educational programs, services and seminars.
  • Parents of the Hearing Impaired of South Australia
    A voluntary organisation that aims to "promote, advance, assist and improve the education and the social and moral welfare of hearing impaired persons and their families." Their website consists of local information, such as meeting times, a calendar of social events and a captioned movie schedule.

    Information about the Society, the services it offers - including access to its newsletter, understanding deafness, and associated organisations
