Indigenous HealthInfoNet
- This site, formerly the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
Health Clearinghouse, provides access to a comprehensive range of
high quality, peer-reviewed information on Australian Indigenous health
issues. It also contains key facts, statistical resources and information
on relevant cultural, social, historical, economic and environmental
issues. It is supported primarily by Edith Cowan University and the
Office for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health.
Health
and Welfare of Australia's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples
2001
- An AIHW publication covering a range of topics including availability
and use of health services, health of mothers and babies, health status,
rates and causes of mortality and the impact of diabetes on the indigenous
population.
HIV/AIDS
and Us Mob
- New information resource for indigenous people, was launched in
Alice Springs by the Australian Federation of AIDS. This new booklet
has been developed to increase awareness of HIV/AIDS, testing, care
and support issues and is the first resource specifically designed
to provide information about treatment options for Aboriginal and
Torres Strait Islander communities. Sponsored by the National Association
of People Living with HIV/AIDS (NAPWA) which is the peak non-government
organisation representing people living with HIV/AIDS in Australia.
Office
for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health (OATSIH)
- OATSIH is a division of the Commonwealth Government's Dept. of Health
and Aged Care. It's website contains links to the full text of many
government reports on Indigenous health issues.
Culture
Training Manual for Medical Workers in Aboriginal Communities
- Written in 1975 by a staff member at the School of Social Sciences,
Flinders University, this classic work remains very useful for today's
health professionals. It was converted to hypertext in 1995 and an
introductory comment was added.
Indigenous
Australian Alcohol and Other Drug Databases
- This resource, produced by the National Drug Research Institute
(Curtin University of Technology), consists of two searchable databases
- a Bibliographic Database and an Interventions Project Database.

Health Provider Network
- A South Australian website for health care consumers and providers.
Links to useful Aboriginal organisations and health information, including
latest statistics on Aboriginal morbidity and mortality.
Congress
of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nurses (CATSIN)
- The website of an organisation whose stated aim is "to increase
the Recruitment and Retention of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander
peoples into Nursing." Covers cultural, professional and educational
issues.
