* Australian Breastfeeding Association - ABA
Formerly know as the Nursing Mothers' Association of Australia, this organisation aims to promote and protect breastfeeding and is a source of information on breastfeeding management and research. The site contains information sheets and links to related web resources.
 
* Australian College of Midwives - ACM
The Australian College of Midwives is a national, not-for-profit organisation that serves as the peak professional body for midwives. It provides a unified political voice for the midwifery profession, supports midwives to reach their full potential, and sets professional practice and education standards. It is also committed to ensuring all childbearing women have access to continuity of care by a known midwife.
 
* Australian Lactation Consultants Association Ltd. - ALCA
"ALCA is the only national, non-profit, incorporated professional association for Australian International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs/LCs). Incorporated in 1987, ALCA was the first organisation to represent Australian IBCLCs. In over a decade, ALCA has made a significant contribution towards its fundamental goal: the protection, promotion and support of breastfeeding as the optimal choice for both infant and maternal health."
 
* Baby Friendly Health Initiative - BFHI
"The Baby Friendly Health Initiative (BFHI) is an international project that aims to give every baby the best start in life by creating a health care environment where breastfeeding is the norm and practices known to promote the health and well-being of all babies and their mothers are followed." Administered by the Australian College of Midwives.

* American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) - A Woman's Guide to Breastfeeding
This site contains a comprehensive overview of breastfeeding issues as well as links to breastfeeding related AAP policy statements.
 
* Baby Milk Action
"A non-profit organisation which aims to save lives and to end the avoidable suffering caused by inappropriate infant feeding. Baby Milk Action works within a global network to strengthen independent, transparent and effective controls on the marketing of the baby feeding industry.
 
* Breastfeeding Basics
An award-winning academic short course on the fundamentals of breastfeeding. Covers such topics as anatomy and physiology of breastfeeding, infant growth and development, breastfeeding problems and breast milk and drugs.

An international, nonprofit organisation, the La Leche League aims to provide education, information and support to breastfeeding women. The site contains links to related web resources and general information on breastfeeding issues.
 
* Nursing Mothers Counsel
This U.S. nonprofit organisation aims to provide breastfeeding support and information. The site contains links to breastfeeding and lactation related web resources.

*World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action - WABA
WABA is a global network of organisations and individuals who believe breastfeeding is the right of all children and mothers and who dedicate themselves to protect, promote and support this right. WABA acts on the Innocenti Declaration and works in liaison with UNICEF.
