Australian Lactation Consultants Association Ltd. - ALCA

"ALCA is the only national, non-profit, incorporated professional association for Australian International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs/LCs). Incorporated in 1987, ALCA was the first organisation to represent Australian IBCLCs. "The Baby Friendly Health Initiative (BFHI) is an international project that aims to give every baby the best start in life by creating a health care environment where breastfeeding is the norm and practices known to promote the health and well-being of all babies and their mothers are followed." Administered by the Australian College of Midwives.

World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action - WABA

WABA is a global network of organisations and individuals who believe breastfeeding is the right of all children and mothers and who dedicate themselves to protect, promote and support this right. WABA acts on the Innocenti Declaration and works in liaison with UNICEF.
