Australian
The ICN Code of Ethics for
Nurses
- Produced by the International Council of Nurses (ICN), this code,
revised in 2000, is "a guide for action based on social values and
needs. (It) makes it clear that inherent in nursing is respect for
human rights, including the right to life, to dignity and to be treated
with respect." The Code "guides nurses in everyday choices and it
supports their refusal to participate in activities that conflict
with caring and healing."
ANMC
Code of Ethics for Nurses in Australia, 2002
- "Developed under the auspices of Australian Nursing & Midwifery
Council, Royal College of Nursing, Australia and the Australian Nursing
Federation." The "code has been developed for nursing in
the Australian context and is relevant to all nurses in all practice
settings."
International
American Nurses
Association, Center for Ethics & Human Rights - ANA
- The webpage of a Centre "committed to addressing the complex ethical
and human rights issues confronting nurses and designing activities
and programs to increase the ethical competence and human rights sensitivity
of nurses." Contains the provisions of the ANA's own Code of Ethics
for Nurses.
