- This site, produced by the Commonwealth Department of Health and
Aged Care, provides key documents on palliative care in Australia,
including the National Strategy for Palliative Care in Australia 1998-2003.
Bereavement Care Centre
- The site provides comprehensive and accessible counselling and support
services for the terminally ill and their families, for the bereaved
and for health professionals. Includes book reviews and resources.
CareSeach
- The evidence based (Care Search ) project has been carried out by
the Deptartment of Palliative and Supportive Services, Flinders University
and was funded by the Department of Health and Ageing. The CareSearch
project aims to capture Australia's missing palliative care literature,
eg., conference abstracts, theses, journal articles and grey literature,
and make it available to practitioners, educators and researchers.
Grieflink
- Based in South Australia the Grieflink website is an information
resource on death-related grief for the community and professionals
Palliative Care Australia
- This is the site of the national peak body for palliative care in
Australia. It offers information about palliative care issues, fulltext
articles including guidelines and standards and multilingual brochures.
It also includes a national directory of palliative care services,
information on research programs, the organisation's newletter and
a media releases section.

Australia
- This site aims to answer common questions on what palliative care
is and contains the Consent to Medical Treatment and Palliative Care
Act 1995 with an accompanying explanation of this document. It also
includes information in languages other than English, resources for

- A valuable site as it offers multicultural palliative care guidelines
and general information in a wide variety of languages.

- "The American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM)
is an organization of physicians and other medical professionals dedicated
to excellence in and advancement of palliative medicine through prevention
and relief of patient and family suffering by providing education
and clinical practice standards, fostering research, facilitating
personal and professional development, and by public policy advocacy."
Edmonton Palliative Care Program
- An informative site with a clinical information section which reviews
palliative care topics, offers tips for health care workers in the
field and provides a journal current awareness service. A separate
section for patients and their families defines palliative care and
provides basic information regarding death, dying, grief and bereavement.

National Hospice

- This site is a good source of general information. Answers questions
