An Australian federal, state and territory health initiative. Contains useful information sheets about smoking, lung cancer, stroke and heart disease.

A coalition of medical, educational and community organisations concerned with the health consequences of smoking. Contains links to a range of other sites in Australian and internationally.
*OxyGen
"OxyGen website is dedicated to informing young people about tobacco and its use in Australia..OxyGen is animated and features many informative fact sheets to help with assignments, links, e-cards, latest news items and cool interactive games."The website is also a portal for educators to access a large range of tobacco education resources and support materials that aim to reduce the prevalence of youth smoking. Links and contact details of state organisations are listed as further sources of information."

This site contains general information and resources on contemporary smoking and tobacco-related issues in Australia as well as an online version of the book "Tobacco in Australia: facts and issues"

A local site containing information on smoking and health issues including nicotine replacement therapy and passive smoking.

International

*Economics of Tobacco Control
A website produced by the World Bank Group providing information, analyses and data on tobacco use around the world and policies in force to reduce it. It includes a database of country-specific data on smoking prevalence rates, morbidity rates, health expenditure on smoking-related illnesses and tobacco tax structures. The World Bank report (1999) titled: "Curbing the Epidemic: Governments and the Economics of Tobacco Control" can also be accessed from this site.
*Tobacco Free Initiative (WHO)
This international site contains information on tobacco control, legislation, passive smoking and tobacco dependence.
